Congratulations! You are a senior in high school. This is a big moment and an even bigger accomplishment. As the years go by, the time flies by and you don’t want to miss out on all that life (and senior year) has to offer. Because senior year is so jam packed, I put together a fun senior year bucket list for you.
Book Senior Photos
Would I be a good senior photographer if I didn’t have this on the bucket list? Seriously though, don’t skimp on senior photos and have them done with an iPhone. You’re only a senior once, and you deserve to treat yourself with professional senior photos. Here’s a post I wrote about that.
Friday Night Football
Football games are a tradition in the South. Going to football games is a great way to meet people and have fun with your friends. It’s also an opportunity to bond over something that has nothing to do with school or work. Sometimes people don’t even go to actually watch the games, more so just to have fun with their friends.
Homecoming
Homecoming is such an exciting week with all the dressing up in fun outfits for school and also the football game and dance. It is a great time to make new friends and spend time with your friends you already have! It’s super fun to get together with your friends and dress up. Just make sure to take great photos.
Pumpkin Patch in the Fall
Pumpkin patches in the fall are so much fun. Go with your friends, or go with your family. You can go and actually get a pumpkin to carve or just go for the photo ops. There are some great local pumpkin patches. My favorite one is Back 40, because it has much more than just a pumpkin patch.
Fall Photos in Cotton or Sunflowers
Senior casuals at a cotton patch or sunflower fields are amazing. Even if you don’t do your senior photos in the fall though, I strongly recommend gathering some friends and getting some pictures in these. The colors are stunning and they make for beautiful wall art. When in doubt, grab a photographer and go take some great pictures there. Agriculture is truly beautiful if you stop to appreciate it.
State Fair
The state fair is a quintessential American experience. It’s the place to be for all things fried, sweet and salty. Plus, it can be fun with friends or family! Make sure to ride the rides, even if it makes you want to throw up. Go down the slide. Watch the pig races. Visit the livestock barns. Take the pictures.
Canton Lights Festival
Canton Lights are so beautiful and fun. It’s a great time to enjoy being out in the cool night air and drink hot chocolate. The rides and games are fun too, so grab your best friends and head to Canton.
Baseball games in the spring
Spring is a fun time to break out the spring clothes, and what better place to show off your new wardrobe than baseball games. Just like with football, baseball is a very social experience. Go and have fun with your friends and family.
Spring Break
Spring break is a time to relax, take a break from school, and spend time with friends and family. It’s also an opportunity to travel somewhere new if you get the chance. Most importantly, spring break is the perfect time to enjoy yourself doing what you love! Spring Break is such a special time too because it marks the start of your last couple months of high school.
Prom
Prom is one of those events that you look forward to all year, maybe even your whole life. It’s a big deal. It’s your time to grab a date and dance the night away in a beautiful dress that makes you feel like a million bucks. Don’t fret if you can’t find a date. Grab your best friends and have a blast making the memories together.
Senior Skip Day
Is Senior Skip Day still a thing? If not, it should be. Seniors work so hard to get where they are, and it’s a fun way to celebrate the end of senior year.
Graduation Party
A graduation party is a perfect time to spend with your friends, celebrating your accomplishments and enjoying each other’s company. Get creative with your theme and decorations, play games, set up a photo booth, and enjoy great food.
Graduation Announcements
This is your time to shine and announce your accomplishment to the world. Some photographers will offer custom design for graduation announcements ( I do ). However you do it, start your graduation announcements early so you have time to proofread and edit before they are printed. This is a great way to use your senior casual photos.
Cap & Gown Photos
As graduation nears, your senior year is winding down, but you can’t forget cap and gown photos. This might seem like a no-brainer, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Like with other photo ops this year, you can hire a photographer or just do these yourself. Some photographers offer lower price mini sessions to celebrate cap and gown. For girls, I recommend wearing a white dress under your cap and gown. It looks classy and timeless.
T
ake a million pictures
No matter what all you do senior year, just take a million pictures. There are so many things on a senior year bucket list. Make sure to document them all with lots of photos so you’ll be able to look back for years to come and appreciate the memories.
So there you have it—a few ideas to get you started on your own bucket list! So now I want to know. What’s on your senior year bucket list?
