As a senior photographer, I am always looking for new locations to take clients for their sessions. It seems though, that no matter how many new locations I find, I am always drawn back to the Town of Livingston. The charm of Livingston is that it not only has the town and the chapel, but it also has that southern country road with a tree canopy offering photographers beautiful glowy light a few hours before sunset

So many of my clients want to break up their session having pictures in town with amazing buildings and walls, but they also want a little country feel in some of their images. Livingston is a location where we can accomplish both looks.

In the spring, there are several patches of clover that have helped me create beautiful images. Who would have thought that clover was beautiful?!? But when you have a beautiful senior lying in it, shooting at the right angle with the right amount of background blur, it’s sure to be a scroll stopper.

The little white chapel is one of my favorite places to shoot in Livingston. It has big wooden doors, adorable blue shutters, and brick stairs which make great settings for photos. I also love the back porch with the wide steps and the blue railing. There is an adorable courtyard on the side. It has bistro lights that nearly always beckon me to use it as a backdrop.

In the center of the town, there is a farmers market area with a weathered picket fence. It is a perfect prop for me to use in posing my clients. It’s perfectly rustic and gives my images a vintage charm. There are also cute picnic tables and wooden chairs around it that are perfect places to pose my seniors.

On Main Street, there’s a building that offers a long porch with old whisky barrels, wrought iron posts and railings and fabulous rocking chairs that are fan favorites with my clients.

The town of Livingston is small but I would encourage anyone to experience all its charm. You can capture some great images that will be treasured for a lifetime.
